HK De Fenwick
A pictorial view of our abode at De Fenwick Apartments in Hong Kong - Sep 2006
Come late August 2006, pragya and me shifted to Hong Kong for a while. While still settling down, we present a glimpse of our new home - The De Fenwick Apartment. This is a company paid 2 bedroom serviced apartment and will last for a few weeks till we find our own place to settle in.
This is where we spend most of our time :-)
The pleasure seat. This is where all computing and leisure happens. Faces a TV unit. Can see italian style kitchen in the far right - yes we cook in the living room
Well, the TV unit I talked about. We've actually found cables etc to connect our lappy with the TV (HK is a gadget paradise). The only problem is that AC is just facing the sofa, but good that it has a remote - we often end up adjusting the temperature up and down all the time. Far right is the entry to one of the bedrooms (this one is often not used). And dont forget the dining area on the left - not only do we cook, we also eat in the living room. So see why we spend most of our time here :-)
The door to the outside world. Part of the kitchen spreads in that direction too.
A full glimpse of living room as we enter from the main door
Well, one thing is for sure. If you are living on the main HK island, the place ought to be small. Unless you are related to Mr. William H Gates somehow. We aren't, so I really had some hard time fitting the bedroom into the camera's viewfinder (to add I didnt have a wide angle lens to ease things out). Here is a picture of parts of bedroom that could fit into the camera (This is the second bedroom, one behind the sofa which is mostly used).
The bed - an essential part of any bedroom
And the wardrobe... our suitcases are emptied into that woodwork. And our window to outside world
And from the window to our outside world, from the bedroom, we witness the mammoth IFC2 (International Finance Tower 2) - the tallest building in Hong Kong, and 6th tallest in the world. Total 88 floors, of which 10 belong to the client which I am working for here.
The most important place in the house - the kitchen
Will keep posted with more pictures as we explore more of HK
